A Day Away

A couple of weeks back my family and I decided to just take a drive down to Mandurah which is probably around 45 minutes drive from where I stay. The beach there at Singleton (about 10 minutes from Mandurah) is freaking awesome! Not that it’s clean or there are a lot of hot chicks, but the fact that there hasn’t been any encounter with sharks of jellyfish! So yeah, I emphasize it, IT’S FREAKING AWESOME! Our day started around 10 a.m. and so reached around 11 a.m. Just kinda chilled at the beach for a couple of hours before heading for lunch and then back home.

We had lunch at Cicirello’s, although there is one shop at Fremantle which is like 30 minutes nearer, the food at Cicirello’s Mandurah is so much more worth the drive. After lunch we basically headed back home and later on to the casino at night. ;)

Twenty Seven Years

August 9th was mum and dad’s 27th wedding anniversary. However, dad wasn’t able to come downunda till the 11th. So we decided to have a little something on the 11th, I mean, you can’t exactly celebrate a wedding anniversary if the groom wasn’t around now can you.

The night started early, we were all dressed and ready to go out by 7.30 p.m. when the most hilarious thing happened. You see, us children (plus Cheryl) couldn’t decide what to get our parents for their anniversary. So we decided to do something different, we hired a limousine for the night out. Mum was around here two weeks prior, so she knew exactly what was happening, but we decided to leave my dad in the dark and surprise him. Dad was ready to go first, at sharp 7.30 p.m., he was sitting outside with his shoes on waiting for the rest of us slow pokes when the limo driver came walking in. He asked my dad, “Are you waiting for the limousine service?” and my dad, without hesitating replied, “No I’m sorry, I think you got the wrong place.” When we realized what was actually going on, the driver had already taken off. Luckily he called the house phone just to make sure or our planned would have been backfired.

After all that commotion, we waited a couple of minutes and the limousine arrived. After a few brief introductions we immediately started stuffing ourselves into the limo. It was a old Jaguar limousine that could fit 9 people, needless to say we sat quite comfortable the 7 of us. We brought our own sparkling wine and even before arriving the restaurant mum was already feeling all flushed with the little wine she drank.

We went to this place called Fuchè (which is pronounced Fush as some people say). It was like a Mexican fusion restaurant. The food wasn’t bad and the atmosphere was quite nice except for the fact that it was like an open door concept restaurant and it was freaking cold! Can’t exactly remember what we ate there though. (hmm.. need to blog earlier next time so I don’t forget details.) But I do remember what we had for dessert thought, deep fried Mars bars with ice cream. It sounds so sweet doesn’t it? Believe me, it most definitely is. It seems like after you eat it, “cacing” can start coming out of your arse.

So having our dinner and desserts, we chilled awhile and just talked and laughed till about 10.20 p.m. when the limousine arrived to pick us up to go to some retro old school club. Can’t remember the name of the club either, but it’s on the Subiaco street. We paid 5 dollars each to enter, and as soon as we entered, I started laughing ‘cause the club was playing Alex Gaudino’s destination unknown. The expression on my mum’s face was priceless. Allan, the person who suggested the club then went to ask the bartender about the music and the guy said that the retro songs are only on Friday nights. Saturdays, are trance music all the way. Guess this kinda places would make King Han and Andrew really happy. LoL.

Allan and I then decided to take a walk down Subiaco street to see if there were any other clubs or pubs with some 80’s music. We had no luck. Most of the other pubs were also playing trance music. So we decided to call the limousine driver and call it a night. We had fun though. Some of the pictures are posted below.

Brandon Vs. Casino

So it’s been two weekends in a row that we’ve visited the casino. Last week I lost 20 dollars from my winnings back to the casino. But it’s all good. Cause I got ‘em back this week. Winning 300 dollars ;) Also YinKong won around 60-70 dollars last week if i'm not mistaken. Ngeks. We're all winners at the casino. LoL.

So the score is Brandon 3 – Casino 1

24th June - 24th July

So they say "A picture paints a thousand words". Well here are just some random pictures during my holiday back home. Enjoy ;)

The Low Down

So it’s been three weeks since my eyes have gone bad, and I mean real bad. I fucking see double for no apparent reason. I’ve explained it time and time again to everyone and it is getting a little stressing, having to explain it so many times over. But oh well, shit happens sometimes eh?

But as some people put it, “isn’t it a good thing to see double? So when you open your wallet, you see more money which makes you happy. And also, you get to have two girlfriends, Cheryl and Cheryl.” Some even thinks that if I go to the casino I’ll probably win money. “Maybe you can see the next card coming, so you know when to stop.” Just makes me laugh.

The irritating part of it all is that I can’t drive. I just feel like I’m totally stuck. Now I understand how it is like not having a car. Damn it’s not easy. Everyday I go to uni with a patch on my eye so that it doesn’t disturb my studies. (Probably my walking as well)

Seeing that I’ve just entered my third and final year (Wohooo!) of uni, I did expect things to be tougher, but hell, this is way worst then what I expected. It isn’t enough that my eyes are bad, but the subjects I’m taking seems to be freaking tough. Let’s just hope I can cope with stuff being a “One eye Jack” and all.

Everyone I know that knows about my eyes seems so concerned for me. And I am truly grateful to everyone. People keep asking me to go check my eyes again. But what else can I actually do? I’ve done blood tests, went for a CAT scan and a MRI scan and doctors, specialist and everyone else at the hospital thinks that I’m “A O K”. They also say that I just need to wait and see how thing goes. But damn am I impatient to get back to leading my normal life. Shit happens.

Ah yes, my MRI scan experience. Damn it’s like totally boring and you definitely can’t do it if you’re claustrophobic. The damn thing is like 2 inches around your body. I felt as if I was in a coffin and having to stay there for 45 minutes did not exactly help the situation either. So it wasn’t the best of experiences, but it was definitely an experience I’ll remember.

Hope my eyes get better A.S.A.P. Haih.
